Jaime DeMott, a distinguished leader in community music education, is the Director of the Michigan State University Community Music School-East Lansing (CMS) and acting Interim Executive Director of CMS-Detroit. In this pivotal role, she skillfully manages operations and provides visionary leadership for a diverse team of 90 faculty and staff. Through close collaboration with the MSU College of Music, Jaime integrates the rigorous teaching pedagogy of a Big 10 research institution into CMS programs, ensuring high-quality music education is both accessible and impactful for all community members. Her strategic guidance has significantly expanded CMS’s reach, fostering musical growth and community engagement through innovative programs and partnerships.
