Detroit native Peter Whorf first experienced the thrill of making great music while playing with the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra. Between rehearsals and performances, ushering at “Save Orchestra Hall” concerts, and cheering Willie Horton from the Tiger Stadium left field stands, he spent as much time as possible exploring his beloved hometown. Peter received his Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music and has played in many ensembles in New York City, Chicago and Metro Detroit. He joined the CMSD string faculty in 2020 and loves teaching young beginners, teens and adults in private and group lessons.
