Ensembles at CMSD are a great way to make music with other musicians like you. You’ll learn how melody, harmony, and rhythm work together in a group setting and prepare songs to perform live for your family, friends, and other audience members!
CMSD welcomes adults in our community to develop their performance skills in our Spartan Detroit Community Jazz Band, Spartan Detroit Women of Jazz Combo, and Spartan Detroit Jazz Combo.
The Spartan Youth Jazz program provides opportunities for Detroit middle and high school students to study jazz with some of Detroit’s top music educators.
